Youth Empowerment Entrepreneurship Seminar Held

Due to the high rate of unemployment and poverty in Africa and Ghana to be precise, The Life Empowerment Foundation, a non- governmental organization hosted students from various schools to enlighten on how to become entrepreneurs. The aim is to impact to impact entrepreneurship knowledge and skills in participants with the hope of developing their hidden passion.

Abdul Muhaimin Harun the executive director in his welcome address mentioned that,” the organization seeks to give the maximum support to the less privilege and to improve their standard if living. Our programs are Islam inspired but generally, beneficial to all regardless of religion, nationality or ethnicity.”

He further stated that, ” the foundation envisages the maiden entrepreneurship workshop 2020 as a gateway to series of empowerment programs that will help eradicate poverty among the muslim communities in Ghana and Africa at large.”

Madam Kawthar Abdullah, founder of Hajia porsh global multi concept and author of ‘how I made GHS100,000.00 in three weeks during covid-19 lockdown’ talked about entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship opportunities in Ghana. The entrepreneur advised the students to believe in themselves and their ideas. She said It entails patience and confidence; with the right mind set you can breakthrough. She also mentioned that, they should read and read wide.

The second topic for the day: keys steps in starting your business by madam Aida Abubakar, a lecturer at the Madina Institute of Science and Technology. According to her, ”starting a business is easy but can be difficult as well. If you follow the key steps, you’ll get it right. You need to be committed to your work as an entrepreneur.” she said choose good business names that are memorable and have good meaning.

Mr Fuad Mohammed Abubakar of shiffah pure honey and head of cocoa forecast crop at the cocoa company was the last speaker of the day. He spoke about sources of funding for business. ”You don’t need to complete school before you can become an entrepreneur; You can be in school and still earn. You need credibility and commitment to start a business .You need internal resources to start a business” he said. He further stated that,you can make profit without literally touching or buying the product hence partnership. He advised the youth to engage in government start up initiatives to expand their businesses. He also advised the youth to be daring.

The event brought together entrepreneurship experts, cooperate leaders and educationists. The charitable organization presented citation to the speakers for their immense contribution to the positive impact.
